Providing the Single Solution: Building Services and New Fireplace Installation
Our team fired up all cylinders to transform a 1970s brick fireplace into a new modern wood burner installation for a recent project in West Moors, between Ringwood and Bournemouth, Dorset.
The fireplace inatallatio project, which took place in just one week, involved opening of an external chimney and the full removal of the old fireplace, which was over 40 years’ old, to make way for the new installation.
The SGS team opened the existing external chimney as well as lined and widened the opening within the house to accommodate the new wood burner and the slate hearth on which it stands. The installation was completed with brick chamber slips as well as an oak floating beam above the fireplace itself, giving a great high-end finish that any tradesmen would be impressed by.
The final touches to be added was the plastering of the walls and new oak skirting, which had a decorated finish in “Bandstand” (from Crown Paints) and a new Sacramental Elite carpet. All stove and wood burning elements were supplied by FDC and the Fireplace Gallery, Salisbury.
SGS Heating and Electrical are HETAS registered and we’ll always have an engineer available who is qualified to work with, install and maintain solid fuel heating appliances, such as wood-burning stoves and fireplaces.
